Makotoya

Late on a Sunday night my friend visiting from out of town and I were looking for a new bowl of ramen to try. We were in the Shinsaibashi area, and didn't have a lot of options, but one place I've always overlooked was Makotoya. A beef bone ramen shop, it looked generic and I had heard middling things, but this was the day I would give it a try.

The Bowl
The milky white broth was a beef bone gyukotsu base, with a shoyu tare. It was pretty generic as I expected, but not bad. It bared more than a passing resemblance to tonkotsu shop Tobei. The thin hakata-style noodles were pretty good, and so was the extra half-boiled egg I added for my ramen.

Would I Go Again?
It was fine but not amazing; I probably won't go again.

Should You Go?
There are more interesting shops in the area.
