Miso Senmon Menya Taiga

I visited my friend in Toyama prefecture, and on the way we stopped in Kanazawa. We stopped in Shirakawa-go, a beautiful old village in Toyama.

富山にいる友達を遊びに行って、金沢にも行きました。白川郷にも寄りました。

And of course we got ramen in Kanazawa. We went to Taiga, a highly rated miso shop.

金沢で当然ラーメンも食べました。評価が高い味噌専門店「大河」に行ってきました。

The Bowl
It was a hot and cloudy miso ramen. There was plenty of ginger mixed in, which gave it a unique aroma. The noodles were short but thick, curly bands - rubbery firm in a good way. The chashu and full egg were both good toppings, rounding out this solid bowl.

熱くて、濁っている味噌ラーメンでした。生姜がいっぱい入っていて、ユニークな香りになりました。麺は短くい縮れ麺でした。ちょっと固いほうで、こしありました。チャーシューも卵もうまくて、全体的にお勧めするラーメンです。

Would I Go Again?
I think the next time I'm in Kanazawa I'll try somewhere new.

また金沢に行くなら、行ったことない店に行くと思います。

Samurai no Samurai

In November I had the chance to take a trip to Kanazawa, up in Ishikawa Prefecture. My first time in any city means exploration, sights, and of course, food. I started off with the famous park, Kenrokuen.

１１月に初めて石川県の金沢に行きました。初めての旅行だったので、いろいろみたり飲んだり食べたりしました。取りあえず兼六園に行きました。

Kanazawa is not known for its ramen, despite the fact that I have been to one place that prides itself as being from there. Nonetheless, I had some extra time before my train home, and I wanted to try some bowl that the town had to offer. A little bit of searching brought me Samurai no Samurai, a Hakata-style tonkotsu shop in Kanazawa Station. I stepped in and ordered a bowl.

金沢のラーメン屋さんに行ったことありますけどラーメンで有名な町じゃありません。でも、わざわざ金沢に来たので、何かのラーメンちょっと食べてみたかったです。検索したら、博多風豚骨の侍の侍が見つかりました。

The Bowl
The broth was thin but strong, in traditional Hakata style, and a bit milky. The noodles were thin but short, and a little soft. There were tons of kikurage, along with some decent chashu and an excellent creamy egg. Not a particularly unique bowl, but not a bad one either.

スープはとろみがなかったですけど、濃くてちょっとミルキーでした。麺は細くてやわらかったです。キクラゲがたっぷり乗って、おいしいチャーシューとめっちゃクリーミーな味玉も乗っていました。そんなにユニークじゃなかったですけど、おいしかったです。

If I'm back in Kanazawa, I'll try somewhere different.

また金沢に行ったら、他の店で食べてみます。
