TSURUMEN

Today I visited TSURUMEN, a shop not far from Osaka Castle Park, and former home of Ramen Cliff. I went with their standard if unique Dotesoba, a bowl of mazesoba with the white miso flavors of doteyaki, a dish of stewed beef tendon and jelly konnyaku.

The Bowl
For better or for worse, they got what they were aiming for: this was a bowl of noodles that captured the sweet and tenderness of doteyaki. The konnyaku added unique chew to the bowl, and the beef tendon bits were tender and juicy as hoped for. The flat noodles, on the other hand, reminded me of noodle dishes I had in Hong Kong. An interesting dish, if one that got a bit tiresome.

Would I Go Again?
It was pretty good; I might if I'm in the area.

Should You Go?
Those who are looking for the weird, check this one out.
