Higashi Umeda has a wealth of ramen, many of which are nothing special. Chiran had a decent rating in the ramen database though, and I didn't know anything about it so I decided to check it out. It turns out that I had seen Chiran once before in Kyobashi, but had never had a chance to go. They recommended the shio and shrimp miso ramen, so of course I went with the miso.

The Bowl
The broth was a creamy brown, a thick paitan that overflowed with shrimpy goodness, though masking the miso. The noodles, too, dripped with the shrimpy broth, and it was at that point that I thought that maybe they had overdone it with the shrimp. The slice of chashu helped offset the overpowering broth and balanced the bowl a bit.

Would I Go Again?
I would, but I'd try a different bowl.

Should You Go?
Any shrimp lover should stop by.
